Friday Night Fire

Friday
7pm - 8pm
host:Jake Benning and Justin Burns

Jacob Philip Benning, born and raised here in Sonoma, and I grew up a single child with my mother and grandparents in my life. I attained a love for music back in middle school when I was inspired by early punk idols, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, and The Clash. I took guitar lessons with Paul Christopolus and since have been included in a handful of local groups: Split Sekond, Apollo Calling, Burning Broadway (my newest project). I have also recorded material at the Boys & Girls Club’s Intel Club House. This Club House studio was where I recorded my senior project which consisted my playing of all instruments (guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, vocals) as well as editing the three-song Cd. Music has become a crucial component to my everyday life. I plan to study at the Expressions Digital Arts College in Emeryville after completing neccessary units at the Santa Rosa Junior College. Music inspired me to start Friday Night Fever as a means for reaching out to high schoolers as well as college students and beyond; to give our community’s youth a voice among this valley and a say in what is played on our local radio station. All requests are considered, with the tasteful lyrics permitting, and all calls are welcomed. Listen to Friday Night Fever at 7, and keep rockin’!
